I finally got on the Twilight bandwagon, and read the book, watched the film, and have my own feelings and criticisms of each. :) Overall, it's a wonderful story and I will most likely be reading the follow-up books and watching the sequel when it hits the rental market... I AM a mom afterall...

We were exhibiting at a Health Fair in Westlake Village California and I hear from one of the ladies, "Did you see Fabio??!!" Hu?

Yes, that's right, among the vendors of the YHC Health Fair was a statuesque man selling his protein powder to men and women interested in living healthier lives.

Dancing with the Stars Gilles Marini gives us some love!

We were blessed to have the opportunity to meet and oogle Gilles Marini from Dancing with the Stars and the Sex and the City movie! Y'know, the shower guy from Sex and the City, the movie!!

Not only is he French, but he worked with his Father as a baker since he was eight years old (so he can bake!!), he served in the French Military as a young man (he's patriotic!), and he was a Fireman in Paris (in case you have a uniform fetish!). He is married though gals, with two kids... and he plays soccer with his boys (good daddy!).

We didn't get much of an interview, but at least we've captured his voice for you! (begin swooning now...) Listen to it here!

I had the absolute pleasure of speaking at WSU Tri-cities last night in Richland, WA! After the nearly four hour trek from Seattle to Richland, I drove up to a small quiet town wondering if my lecture here was in fact what I had planned, or if I would be met with protesting conservatives!

To my relief, I was met with warm smiling faces and open hearts. Apparently there had been a Pizza party planned to create an alternative for tempted students. Hmmm, I suppose Pizza has more power than I thought.

Approximately 50 people ranging in age from 18-70 listened intently as I shared my candid stories about dealing with depression, eating and stress-related disorders. They laughed at my quirky anecdotes, and seemingly appreciated my candor when discussing sexual issues that affect all of us today.

But there were a few challenging questions posed during the Q&A. One being whether or not I questioned my morality when I was a dancer. Hu, never thought about that. I was too busy saving myself from the grips of depression and suicide to worry about whether God or society thought my choices were moral.

And so now I question what aspect of dancing should I have considered immoral?

1. Dancing naked in front of strangers?
2. Taking money for marriage counseling? (without a PHD)
3. Celebrating my femininity?
4. Learning to love myself and to be responsible for my happiness?

It's been a sad week for Hollywood after the sudden and tragic death of Jett, the 16 year old son of Kelly Preston and John Travolta. Due to an accident that occured from his Seizure disorder, Jett was suddenly taken from this earth while vacationing in the Bahamas with his family. The Travolta's have released a statement expressing their grief and responding to the overwhelming condolences and support for his family.

Tom Cruise commented on the death during an appearance on the View with Barbara Walters, who questioned Scientology for this tragedy. Tom Cruise maintained his composure under what must've been a very difficult interview.

The Thanksgiving day suicide of Willie Ames, best know for his role as the best friend to Scott Baio on Charles in Charge is another example of the downside of Hollywood. Unable to deal with the recent divorce filed by his wife, and the Bankruptcy, he moved to LA to stay with a friend and picked up a bottle of Jack Daniels, after being sober for 20 years. Mixed with anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills, and dismayed by his life, he took a knife to his throat and stabbed himself six times. Police arrived on the scene and took him into custody.

Particia Arquette has filed for divorce from her actor Husband Thomas Jane citing irreconcilable differences.

Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly house hunting solo and is finally moving out after husband Matthew Broderick was seen with a younger woman.

Tim Allen's wife is pregnant.

Rebecca Romijin and Jerry O'Connell welcomed twin girls on December 28th 2008. They decided to name them, Charlie Tamara Tulip, and Dolly Rebecca Rose...... okay.... apparently she has a thing for Dolly Parton, and Charlie is the name of Jerry's brother. It could've been worse I suppose.

Wow, what a pleasure to interview such a cool woman! She is not only the Author of the Three Martini Playdate, but also a sly educator bringing the old school parenting styles back! Whatever happened to kids entertaining themselves and saying,"Please" and "Thank you?" Gone seem to the be the days of cocktail parties where grown-ups chat with clinking glasses while kids run about outdoors and play amongst themselves. Ah, the distant memory of falling asleep in my bedroom while I listened to the sound of music and muffled voices discussing wordly things beyond my comprehension.

Christie Mellor is bringing the "parent" back in parenting, in her entertaining, yet truthful book entitled, The Three Martini Playdate. Part parenting book, part cocktail bar recipe book, and all inspiring prose to remember who you are-the Queen of the castle.

Her voice is calm and endearing, but her message is deliberate and focused. I felt a slight "Rebel" message as I read,".."playdate... may the chipper mommy who coined that particular term forever rot in hell of eternally colicky babies," yet she so eloquently corrects me that being in charge of your life outside of mommyhood should not be rebellious. Agreed.

Guess it's time to ditch a few playdates and protest some overly obnoxious birthday parties, chill some vodka and invite over some moms that want to talk about something other than their children!

Highly recommend this book to any mom, even if you can't see the crayon writing on the wall.
